I'm actually going!

Hi everyone,

I have exciting news!!! I have a one-way ticket to Nairobi, Kenya for Sunday, July 1st! My monthly financial support is now up to 99% and I was able to purchase the ticket yesterday.

It has been so amazing and overwhelming to see the faithfulness of God in providing the resources I need to work in Sudan through His people. At times it seemed impossible but I'm realizing that God has ways and means beyond what I can imagine. So I give Him praise and a huge thank-you to everyone who has contributed to my support through prayer or finances.

I arrive in Nairobi on a Sunday evening and on Monday my SIM team is starting health and development meetings to discuss the beginnings of the health work in South Sudan. How's that for timing?! Doctor Rob and nurses Vicky and Grace will be back from Sudan and we'll all meet together. I'm not sure yet when I'll be heading into Sudan myself. I'll have some orientation in Nairobi and have to purchase furnishings for my hut and some supplies, etc. It sounds like my first few months will be mainly given to Mabaan language and culture learning and building relationships, which I'm really excited about!

Amy,
We're thrilled for you that at last your vision is becoming a reality.May you know great joy as you take this step.

We go in faith, our own great weakness feeling,
And needing more each day your grace to know
Yet from our hearts, a song of triumph pealing,
We trust in you, and in your name we go.

Much love and prayers,

Bernard & Elizabeth

Amy,
I serve in Western Kenya and found your blog as I was reading other missions blogs. May your journey back to Africa be one where you see God's hand at work, and where His presence becomes a reality without which you cannot operate. Sudan is tough, but God is doing AMAZING stuff there. Be blessed, sister!
